Designer picks for fall 2023
Summer is my favourite season, and while I am clinging to it dearly, we can’t ignore that fall is fast approaching! I’ll miss the longer days and warmer temperatures, but there is plenty to be excited about in the coming weeks as we settle into fall, from cozy sweaters and warm comfort foods to the return of all things pumpkin. The changing of the seasons also brings all-new fall décor! During a recent visit to Urban Barn, I was excited to see so many new stylish fall décor pieces and have rounded up my favourite picks for the season.
Aidan Boxes
It was love at first sight when I saw these rattan boxes. I am always drawn to anything rattan, but also can’t resist a stylish storage solution. I bought a set of these for my built-in bookcases and I love the way they add warmth to my décor.
Savary 16 Piece Dish set
The shape and design of this set of dishes is beautiful. They have that handmade pottery vibe that I love, and white dishes are always a good idea. They are so versatile when it comes to styling your table for holidays and special occasions. Thanksgiving will be here before we know it!
Luis Eucalyptus Stems
The warm caramel tones of these faux stems definitely evoke fall vibes. I love switching out my faux stems to reflect the changes that are happening in nature. These stems would be beautiful on your table for Thanksgiving or on your mantle in a pretty vase.
Lennay Dining Chair
Another home décor trend that isn’t going anywhere is natural cane details. If you love decorating with neutrals and wood tones like I do, textures like cane and rattan can help add interest to your space.
Salas Table Lamp
Shorter days are on the way and soon we’ll be reaching for those table lamps in the early evenings. The simple shape and terracotta base of this piece caught my eye. Lighting is essential to creating a cozy living space and shouldn’t be overlooked!
Conway Linen Pillow
I can’t resist plaid, especially in the fall. This pillow is linen which is a wonderful fabric and the sand and rust colour combo is like pumpkin spice in pillow form.
Taylor Teddy Pillow
The name of this item should say it all… it’s a throw pillow that feels like a soft teddy bear! I am not embarrassed to admit that I cradled this pillow as soon as I picked it up and then carried it around the store with me.
Kennedy Check Throw
A patterned throw blanket is great if you have a sofa in the middle of the room. I love a buffalo check and this blanket is available in two colours (grey and caramel). I opted for the caramel one because I am drawn to warm colours for fall.
Mayfair Jute Pouf
I have incorporated poufs into several family room designs lately and I was excited to see some new options at Urban Barn. They’re so versatile and can be used as extra seating, a footstool or combined with a tray to provide a place to rest a drink and a snack.
Tacona Armchair
I was very excited to see this new version of my favourite chair! I have two of the Tacona chairs in ivory in our formal living room and we love them. It now comes in the warmest shade of green and I love the look of it!
