The collection also includes two framed prints featuring one of Ryan's signature subjects, crows. "To me, it symbolizes the landscape here in New Brunswick. When I first started using the crow, I was making works based on quilts. I was thinking about what sort of symbolism was important to me or was a signifier of the landscape back home, and the crow came to mind." "I layer paint on the surface of the printing press and lay different pieces of dried flowers and leaves and little brush marks. That creates a unique print where you're not really sure what you're going to get when you push it through. It's experimental, it's a little bit of a surprise at the end, and that's a lot of the fun of printmaking."
